Timesheet costs on a job
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Timesheets linked to a job can add labor costs to the job automatically.
Turn on timesheet costs for a job
- Open the job and go to Finances > Costs.
- Select Auto settings.
- Turn on Timesheets.
Costs are added for existing and new timesheets linked to the job. Linking a timesheet to a job doesn’t add a cost unless this setting is on.
If you turn the setting off, existing costs stay on the job, and new timesheets don’t add costs.
How the cost is calculated
A timesheet’s cost is its hours multiplied by its rate. For example: 2 hours × $25 per hour = $50.
A timesheet adds a cost only after it has an end time.
When the timesheet changes
| If you… | Result |
|---|---|
| Edit the timesheet | The cost updates. |
| Delete the timesheet | The cost is removed. |
| Mark the timesheet settled | The cost stays the same. |
You can’t edit a timesheet cost directly. To change the cost, select it to open the linked timesheet, then edit the timesheet.
