Last updated: November 4, 2026

Create a task

A title is the only required detail.

  1. Select Tasks, then select New task.
  2. Enter a Title.
  3. Add optional details, such as a description, priority, due date, assignee, or checklist.
  4. Select Create task.

If you leave the title blank, you’ll see Title can’t be blank.

You can also start a task from Create new > Task.

Create a task from a job

  1. Open the job and go to its Tasks section.
  2. Select New task.
  3. Enter the task’s details, then select Create task.

The task is linked to the job. It appears in the job’s tasks and in Tasks, where it shows the job’s code and name. For more about a job’s sections, see Manage a job and its related records.
