Manage a job and its related records
Last updated: November 1, 2026
A job brings together its estimates, invoices, purchase orders, appointments, forms, tasks, and files. You can view and add related records, customize which sections appear, and review the job’s activity.
Open a job
- Select Jobs.
- Find the job and open it.
To search or filter the list, see Find, filter, and sort jobs.
Find the job’s related records
The job’s related records are organized in sections:
- Finances: the job’s Estimates, Invoices, and POs (purchase orders)
- Appointments
- Forms
- Tasks
- Files
Open a section to see the job’s records of that type. If a section isn’t shown, it may be hidden. See Choose which sections the job shows.
To see the job’s customer, open the customer’s details on the job. To go to the customer’s profile, select Open.
Job notes are managed separately.
Add a record to the job
You can create records directly from a job. The new record is linked to the job, and some details are filled in automatically. Each record you add appears in the job’s list for that type.
| Record | Where to add it | What’s filled in for you |
|---|---|---|
| Estimate | Finances > Estimates > New estimate | The job, the job’s address, and the customer |
| Invoice | Finances > Invoices > New invoice | The job, the job’s address, and the customer |
| Purchase order | Finances > POs > New purchase order | The job and the job’s address. Choose a vendor. |
| Appointment | Appointments > New appointment | The job and the customer |
| Form | Forms > New form | The job. Choose an existing form template. The form is added to the job as its own copy, and the template doesn’t change. |
| Task | Tasks > New task | The job |
| File | Files > New file | The job. Upload the file. |
For full instructions, see the article for each record type, such as Create and edit an estimate and Create and edit an invoice.
