Job finances
Last updated: November 1, 2026
A job’s financial summary shows what the job is worth, how much you’ve invoiced and collected, what the job has cost, and your profit. To see it, open the job and select Finances > Summary.
The summary is calculated from the job’s estimates, invoices, payments, and costs. You can see those records in the Estimates, Invoices, POs, and Costs lists next to Summary.
Overview
| Figure | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Pending proposals | The total of the job’s estimates with a Pending status. |
| Job value | The subtotals of the job’s accepted estimates, plus the subtotals of invoices that aren’t linked to an estimate. |
| Profit | Job value minus Total cost. |
| Margin | Profit as a percentage of Job value. |
Accepted estimates include estimates that have been partially or fully converted into invoices. Draft, Pending, Declined, and Canceled estimates don’t count toward Job value. Invoices that aren’t linked to an estimate count only when they’re Open, Partially paid, or Paid.
Profit and Margin can be negative when Total cost exceeds Job value. When Total cost is $0, both figures display No data.
Income

| Remaining to invoice | The part of Job value that hasn’t been invoiced yet. |

| Unpaid balance | Invoices minus Payments received. |
Draft and Canceled invoices don’t count toward these figures.
Job value uses subtotals, while Invoices uses each invoice’s total.
The bar shows how much of the invoiced amount has been paid.

- Profit: $29,175 ($30,850 − $1,675)
- Margin: 94.6%
- Unpaid balance: $10,595 ($11,095 − $500)
