Copy an invoice

Last updated: October 30, 2026

Make a copy of an existing invoice to create a new one with the same details. You can copy an invoice in any status. The copy gets a new invoice ID and starts as a Draft, regardless of the original’s status. Making a copy doesn’t change the original invoice.

Copy from the Invoices list

  1. Select Invoices in the sidebar.

  2. Select the more options menu (⋮) at the end of the invoice’s row.

  3. Select Make a copy.

A new invoice opens with the copied details.

  4. Review the copy and make any changes.

  5. Select Save invoice.

  4. Review the copy and make any changes.
  5. Select Save invoice.

The copy isn’t saved until you select Save invoice.

Save and copy a new invoice

When you’re creating an invoice, select the arrow next to Save invoice, then select Save and copy. Your invoice is saved, and a copy of it opens as a new invoice.

What’s copied

The copy includes:

  • Customer
  • Linked job
  • Salesperson
  • Line items and their descriptions
  • Discounts
  • Public note
  • Terms & Conditions
  • Attachments
  • PO number and Customer reference
  • View settings and the Require signature setting

The copy doesn’t include payments or the customer’s signature.

The copy’s Invoice date is set to today. Its Due date is set using the default due date under Company settings > Invoices > General.
