Cancel or delete an estimate

Last updated: November 3, 2026

Cancel an estimate to keep it on record, or delete it to remove it permanently.

Cancel an estimate

  1. Open the estimate and select its status.
  2. Under Change status, choose Canceled.

If the estimate is Accepted, you’re asked to confirm. Partially converted and Converted estimates can’t be canceled while they have linked invoices.

A canceled estimate remains in your estimates and can still be edited. Its web page shows it as Canceled, and your customer can’t accept or decline it. To reverse the cancellation, choose another status. See Estimate statuses.

Delete an estimate

  1. Open the estimate.
  2. Open its more options menu and select Delete estimate.
  3. Select Yes, delete.

You can delete Draft, Pending, Declined, and Canceled estimates. Accepted, Partially converted, and Converted estimates can’t be deleted. Partially converted and Converted estimates become eligible for deletion once their linked invoices are deleted or canceled.

Important: Deleting is permanent and can’t be undone. The estimate’s web page no longer shows the estimate.

Your customer isn’t notified when you cancel or delete an estimate.
