This Cookie Policy explains how Cinderblock Inc uses cookies and similar technologies on its public website at cinderblock.com, including website forms and support pages. It also describes form protection used during the opt-in process on our separate free-tools website at tools.cinderblock.com.

This policy does not provide a complete inventory of technologies used within the signed-in Cinderblock application or the separate free-tools website at tools.cinderblock.com. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information across our website, free tools and application.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We also use local storage, session storage and IndexedDB, which store information in your browser. These technologies help remember your choices, support features you request and measure website use.

Your analytics choice

We use Google Analytics and Ahrefs to measure website visits and interactions. In the United States, Australia and Canadian provinces and territories outside Quebec, analytics starts by default with a notice and a control to turn it off. In Quebec, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and all other locations, analytics starts only after you select Accept. If we cannot determine your country or, for Canada, your province or territory, we ask you to accept first.

Select Turn analytics off or Decline to stop optional website analytics. We respect a saved decline and block analytics when your browser sends Global Privacy Control. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the website footer.

We use Cloudflare’s country and Canadian province or territory information to choose the appropriate analytics notice. This lookup does not ask for your device’s precise location. The endpoint returns only country and Canadian province or territory codes; we do not save those codes in your browser.

We remember your choice for 30 days using a cookie and local storage named cb_cookie_consent. The cookie also makes your choice available to Cinderblock subdomains that use our shared analytics preferences. Clearing browser storage or using another browser or device may mean you need to choose again.

Declining analytics does not prevent you from browsing the website, requesting support chat or using website forms. Chat and form protection use separate technologies described below.

Withdrawing your choice stops future optional website analytics. It does not automatically delete information already collected. For personal-information requests, contact us using the details below.

Technologies we use

Remembering your preferences

Cinderblock uses cb_cookie_consent to remember whether you accept or decline analytics. This preference is used for 30 days and is not itself used to measure your browsing activity.

Optional website analytics

Google Analytics 4 uses cookies, including _ga and _ga_* cookies, to distinguish browsers and maintain session information. It collects information about pages visited, website interactions and browser and device characteristics.

Google’s default cookie lifetime is two years, but configuration and browser restrictions can shorten the effective lifetime. Cookies may be renewed during subsequent visits when analytics is allowed.

Ahrefs Web Analytics measures visits and interactions without cookies or persistent browser identifiers. It processes page addresses, referrers and browser and device information, and uses IP address and browser information to generate a daily visitor identifier. Ahrefs states that it discards raw IP addresses and does not use this identifier to track visitors across days.

We use Google Tag Manager to deploy website analytics when analytics is allowed under the choices and regional rules described above. The website keeps advertising consent denied and disables Google signals and advertising personalization in its Analytics configuration.

Support chat

When you open support chat, we load Freshchat, provided by Freshworks. Freshchat processes technical information and the messages and contact details you provide so that we can respond to your inquiry.

Freshchat uses local storage and IndexedDB to recognize chat sessions and maintain conversation continuity and history. Persistent chat storage can remain between visits until removed by the service or cleared by your browser.

Freshchat’s security infrastructure may also use Cloudflare’s __cf_bm cookie on the Freshchat domain to detect bots and abuse. Cloudflare states that this cookie expires after 30 minutes of continuous inactivity.

Form protection

We use Google reCAPTCHA on website forms to help prevent spam and abuse. It communicates with Google and uses cookies and browser storage for risk analysis. Google documents that reCAPTCHA may set a cookie named _GRECAPTCHA when it runs.

Some form-protection storage lasts for a browser session; other storage can persist between visits. Its duration depends on the technology and browser.

Free-tools form protection

Our free tools at tools.cinderblock.com use Cloudflare Turnstile during the opt-in process to help prevent automated submissions and abuse. Turnstile communicates with Cloudflare and processes technical information, including your IP address and browser information, for security checks. This form protection is separate from optional website analytics. See Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum for more information.

Browser controls and retention

You can block or clear cookies and other site data through your browser settings. Blocking storage needed for a requested feature may prevent chat or form submission from working.

Browser-storage duration is separate from how long information is retained on our servers or our providers’ servers. See our Privacy Policy for information about data retention.
