This Privacy Policy explains how Cinderblock collects, uses, and protects information about you when you visit cinderblock.com or use the Cinderblock application.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Name, email address, and password when you register for an account
  • Business name, address, and contact details
  • Name, email address, password, and contact details of secondary users
  • Business and operational data you enter into Cinderblock
  • Messages and file attachments submitted via the website or within the web or mobile applications

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data (which features you use, how often, and how the app is performing)
  • Device and browser information
  • IP address and approximate geographic region
  • Pages visited and interactions within the site and applications

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Cinderblock application and website
  • Process your account registration and manage your subscription
  • Respond to support requests and inquiries
  • Send transactional communications (receipts, renewal reminders, account notices)

We do not sell your data to third parties. Your business data — jobs, customers, estimates, invoices, and documents — is your own.

Forms

  • Static Forms: processes contact and partner application form submissions. Privacy Policy
  • Google reCAPTCHA v3: protects forms from spam and abuse. Usage data is sent to Google. Privacy Policy

Application

Analytics & Product Improvement

  • Amplitude: product analytics used to understand how users interact with the Cinderblock web application. Privacy Policy
  • Microsoft Clarity: session recording and heatmap tool used on the web and mobile app to understand how users navigate and interact with the product. Clarity may record mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling behavior. Privacy Policy

Error Tracking & Performance

  • Sentry: error and performance monitoring used on the web and mobile app to detect and diagnose application issues. Privacy Policy
  • Firebase Performance Monitoring (Google): monitors mobile app performance including startup time, network requests, and screen rendering. Privacy Policy

Payment Processing

  • Stripe: processes credit card and ACH payments. Cinderblock does not store card details; payment data is handled directly by Stripe. Privacy Policy
  • Cardknox (Sola): alternative payment processor for credit card and ACH payments. Privacy Policy

Accounting Integration

  • QuickBooks Online (Intuit): optional integration that syncs customers, invoices, payments, and items between Cinderblock and QuickBooks. Only activated if you connect your QuickBooks account. Privacy Policy

Recipient Data

Cinderblock allows Users to send links to their customers, vendors, and other third parties (Recipients) for the purpose of reviewing, signing, or making payment on documents such as estimates, invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests.

If you are a Recipient who has received one of these links, this section applies to you.

What we collect from Recipients

When a Recipient accesses a link or takes action through it, the following information may be collected:

  • Name, email address, and other contact details provided by the Recipient
  • Payment information submitted when making a payment (handled exclusively by Stripe or Cardknox/Sola; Cinderblock does not store full payment details)
  • A partial payment record (last four digits, payment method, and card type) for reference purposes
  • Device information and IP address, collected automatically upon access
  • IP address and identifying attributes captured at the time of signing, for the purpose of legal enforceability of electronically signed documents

How Recipient data is used

Recipient data is stored within the sending User’s Cinderblock account. Cinderblock acts as a data processor on behalf of the User and does not use Recipient data for its own tracking, marketing, or sales purposes.

Cinderblock may send transactional emails to Recipients on behalf of the User, such as document acceptance confirmations and payment receipts. These emails are not used for marketing.

When a Recipient views a shared link, the User who sent the link may receive a notification that the document has been viewed. This notification does not include detailed personal information about the Recipient.

Data retention

Some Recipient data, including name and contact details, is retained permanently within the User’s account as part of the customer or vendor record. Recipients may contact the User directly to request changes or deletion of their data.

Cookies and Local Storage

Cinderblock’s website uses cookies and browser local storage for the following purposes:

  • Cookie consent: stores your acceptance of this cookie notice locally in your browser
  • Session management: maintains your logged-in state within the application
  • Analytics: Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visitors and measure site usage

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some site functionality.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers based in the United States. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Access to your business data within Cinderblock is controlled by the role-based permissions you configure for your team. Cinderblock staff do not access your business data except when required to resolve a support issue and with your consent.

Data Retention

We retain your account and business data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will retain data for a limited period as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, after which it is deleted.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Data portability (receive your data in a structured format)

Cinderblock is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Cinderblock after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
