Cancel or delete an estimate
Last updated: October 29, 2026
Cancel an estimate when the work is no longer going ahead but you want to keep a record of it. Delete an estimate to remove it permanently. Neither action notifies your customer.
Cancel or delete?
| Cancel | Delete | |
|---|---|---|
| The estimate | Stays in Cinderblock with the Canceled status | Is removed permanently |
| Your customer’s web link | Still works and shows Canceled. Your customer can’t accept or decline the estimate. | No longer shows the estimate |
| Undo | Choose another status | Can’t be undone |
Cancel an estimate
To cancel an estimate, open it and change its status to Canceled using the status at the top right of Estimate details. The change applies right away. If the estimate is Accepted, confirm the change when asked.
You can’t cancel a Partially converted or Converted estimate while it has linked invoices.
A canceled estimate stays Canceled if you edit it. To reopen it, choose another status.
Delete an estimate
- Open the estimate.
- Select the more options menu (⋮) at the top right of the estimate.
- Select Delete estimate.
- Confirm the deletion.
Important: Deleting an estimate is permanent and can’t be undone. Your customer can no longer view the estimate from its web link.
Estimates you can’t delete
Whether you can delete an estimate depends on its current status. You can delete Draft, Pending, Declined, and Canceled estimates. You can’t delete Accepted, Partially converted, or Converted estimates.
When you delete or cancel all of a Partially converted or Converted estimate’s linked invoices, its status updates automatically. You can delete the estimate once its new status allows it.
