See when a customer viewed an estimate

Last updated: October 29, 2026

When someone opens an estimate’s web link, Cinderblock records the view in the estimate’s history log. You can also be notified the first time an estimate is viewed.

Check whether an estimate was viewed

  1. Open the estimate.

  2. Select the more options menu (⋮) at the top right of the estimate.

  3. Select History log.

The history log shows when the estimate was viewed.

What counts as a view

A view is recorded when someone opens the estimate’s web link. This is the link in the estimate email and the link that Copy web link copies. It stays the same for the life of the estimate.

Opening the link doesn’t require signing in, so Cinderblock can’t tell who viewed the estimate. A view shows that the link was opened, not who opened it.

A Draft estimate’s web link is unavailable, so a Draft estimate can’t be viewed.

Viewing an estimate doesn’t change its status.

Get notified when an estimate is viewed

You can receive email, in-app, and push notifications the first time someone views an estimate you created or are assigned to. You receive each one only if it’s turned on in your notification preferences. Later views appear only in the history log.

To change these notifications:

  1. Go to your notification preferences.
  2. Under Estimates, find When an estimate I created or am assigned to has been viewed.
  3. Select or clear Email, In-app, and Push.

Push notifications are sent only when In-app is also on. Your notification preferences apply only to you.
