Job tags
Last updated: November 1, 2026
Tags help you organize and identify jobs, such as jobs that need a follow-up or urgent attention. A job can have any number of tags, and tags are optional.
Manage tags
Your tags are listed in Company settings > Tags & File labels > Tags. Each tag has a name and a color.
- Go to Company settings > Tags & File labels > Tags.
- To add a tag, select New tag, enter its name, and choose a color.
- To rename a tag, edit its name. To change its color, choose a new color.
- To delete a tag, delete it from the list.
- Select Update.
To undo changes you haven’t saved, select Discard changes.
Important: Deleting a tag removes it from every job, customer, and vendor that has it. The jobs, customers, and vendors aren’t deleted.
You can also open this page from a job. Open the job’s tags and select Manage job tags. The page opens in a new tab.
Add tags to a job
You can add Job tags when you create a job. They’re in the advanced options. See Create and edit a job.
To add or remove tags from the job:
- Open the job.
- Select the job’s Tags.
- Select a tag to add it, or deselect an assigned tag to remove it.
Each change applies right away.
To create a tag while you’re on the job:
- Open the job’s tags and type the new tag’s name.
- Select New tag.
- Choose a color, and select Save.
The tag is added to your company’s tags and to the job.
Who can change a job’s tags
Users whose role has the Update job status and tags permission can add existing tags to a job and remove them. This permission on its own doesn’t let them create new tags.
Find jobs by tag
In the Jobs list, use the Tags filter to show jobs by tag. See Find, filter, and sort jobs.
