Job notes
Keep All Your Job-Related Communication in One Place with Job Notes
Cinderblock’s Notes feature helps you centralize job-related communication, ensuring your team stays informed and organized.
Basic Job Notes Features
All notes related to a specific job can be found on the right-hand side of the job view on the web or in the “Notes” tab on mobile.
Tag Users
Type “@” followed by a user’s name to tag them in a note. As you type, autocomplete suggestions will appear—click the user’s name or picture to select them.
Note: Tagged users will receive notifications via email, push notification, or web notification, depending on their notification settings.
Pin Notes
After creating a note, click the ⋮ button and select “Pin Note”. Pinned notes appear at the top of the “Job Notes” section. Clicking a pinned note will take you directly to it.
Create Private Notes
Click the 🔒 icon to make a note private. Only the creator of a private note can see it. To change a note’s visibility, click the ⋮ button and select “Make Private/Make Public”.
Reply to a Note
Click the 💬 icon to reply to a specific note, keeping discussions organized within the job.
Advanced Features
The biggest advantage of using Job Notes is having all relevant job details—appointments, estimates, invoices, and more—in one place, accessible from anywhere.
Access Notes from Anywhere
You can quickly view all notes related to a job from any modal window by clicking the 📝 icon. This is useful for adding a note while working on something else or looking up information while creating an appointment, estimate, or invoice.
Reference Assets in Notes
You can mention specific assets in Job Notes using two methods:
- Method 1: Click the ⋮ icon next to an asset and select “Mention in Job Notes”.
- Method 2: When a modal window is open, click the 📝 icon. The asset in the modal will automatically attach to the note.
Note: All basic note functions (tags, pinning, private notes) are available when attaching assets.
