The tour kicks off on February 17th, 2012 in Detroit, MI and will culminate with a giant St Patrick’s Day bash at Tempe Beach Park In Tempe, AZ. The recording of Major/Minor began May 2nd in Santa Monica, CA with Dave Schiffman at Red Bull Studios who mixed â€œBeggarsâ€Â and engineered â€œVheissu.â€Â As a band that continues to push boundaries, Major/Minor will be no exception. Â â€œIt’s definitely the most natural progression from record to record that we’ve had in a while. We did The Alchemy Index, which was totally different [from Vheissu]. Then Beggars was kind of the reaction against that. This kind of makes sense coming out of Beggars, but it’s definitely a different record,â€Â says lead singer Dustin Kensrue.

Most recently, Thrice was named one of Alternative Press Magazine’s Must Hear Top 20 Fall Releases and will be performing on Fuel TV’s The Daily Habit as well as doing an acoustic session for Filter Magazine/ Dickies and Guitar Center.

X Bombs US West Coast

The original lineup of famed Los Angeles-bred roots-punk legends X â€” John Doe, Exene Cervenka, Billy Zoom and D.J. Bonebrake â€” has mounted a seven-date tour up and down the California coast this June, a summer-themed trek that the group has dubbed the â€œBoardwalk Beach Party.â€

The trek opened with shows in Anaheim, and continues through San Diego, San Francisco, Napa and Santa Cruz before wrapping up at the Johnny Cash Music Festival in Ventura on June 18. According to Xâ€™s website, the band is â€œback to play your favorite X songs.â€

Last December, X celebrated the 30th anniversary of its debut Los Angeles by playing the album in its entirety during a run of Christmas dates along the West Coast â€” including a pair of San Francisco shows featuring the recordâ€™s producer, Ray Manzarek of The Doors.

Alkaline Trio and Cinder Block Launch Exclusive Limited Pre-Order for New Album “Damnesia”

High energy melodic cult rockers Alkaline Trio will be releasing a brand new album entitled Damnesia July 12th, 2011 via Epitaph Records/Heart & Skull. The new record features a selection of beloved fan favorites selected from the groupâ€™s extensive catalog and presented in an intimate, semi unplugged format. Also included will be a cover of the song â€œI Held Her In My Armsâ€ by influential indie rock trio The Violent Femmes as well as two brand new Alkaline Trio songs entitled â€œOlde English 800â€ and â€œI Remember A Rooftop.â€

Also, on sale this week are tickets for the first leg of the groupâ€™s special 15th anniversary tour which kicks off July 10th. The band plans to make the tour something special for fans. As singer/bassist Dan Andriano explains, â€œWeâ€™re looking forward to our 15th anniversary tour this summer. Weâ€™re going to really try to put together a set that encompasses everything the band has done over the past 15 years and plan to play some songs that rarely find their way in to the set list. Since forming in Illinois in 1996, Alkaline Trio has continued to amass a devoted cult following with their infectious punk hooks and darkly dramatic tongue-in-cheek lyrics.Â Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Matt Skiba, bassist/vocalist Dan Andriano and drummer Derek Grant, the band has created some of punk’s most memorable songs with favorites like â€œRadioâ€ from the 2000 album Maybe Iâ€™ll Catch Fire, â€œMercy Meâ€ from the 2005 album Crimson, â€œBlue In The Faceâ€ from 2003â€™s Good Mourning and â€œThe American Screamâ€ from 2010â€™s This Addiction.

NICK 13 is a singer/songwriter whose work recalls the vintage American sounds of hillbilly, honky-tonk and classic California country music from the middle of last century. While this vanishing world echoes in his music, he puts a modern twist on it all his own.

Nick 13′s self-titled debut album for Sugar Hill Records demonstrates the sound and artistic vision that has already earned him invitations to Stagecoach, Austin City Limits and SXSW.

Nick 13 is best known around the world as the singer, songwriter, guitarist and founder of the band Tiger Army. His fans have come to expect powerful, heartfelt music that combines the strongest elements of the past with forward-thinking vision. The band is capable of multi-night stands in major cities and appeared in the New York Times, Spin and on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

A solo album of pure Americana / country where rock bombast of any kind is notably absent may seem strange from someone who has led a “psychobilly” band across four albums and several international tours during the past decade, but Nick 13 is simply retracing his own course of musical discovery.

“The first music that really, really grabbed me as a young kid was punk rock. A lot of people are puzzled where the road is from that to country music, but I started following the roots back, getting into a lot of early rockabilly and rock ‘n’ roll, and that lead me back to hillbilly music of the 40s and 50s” he says. “I guess that’s always been a part of my nature, tracing the origins of things.”
